For Mark Sergeant, founder and Managing Director of Diamond Logistics Huddersfield Ltd, membership to Courier Exchange has added value, not only in terms of improving efficiency in every aspect, but also by identifying a whole new market he didn’t even know existed.
A Diamond Start
When Mark left university with an honours degree in Sports Science there’s little doubt he didn’t expect to be where he is now, some twelve years later. While filling in time until his dream job appeared, Mark took on a part-time job as a courier driver, which turned into eleven years of full-time employment as a much in-demand driver, including five years at DHL. That valuable experience on the ground gave Mark the courage and skills to establish his own company.
Diamond Logistics is a relatively new kid on the block, specialising in overnight, same day and next day courier services and fulfilment. But by focussing on keeping efficiencies at a premium and being constantly on the hunt to win new clients, Mark is already taking the company to very exciting places.
Courier Exchange: Part of Every Solution
Very early on, Mark realised that membership to our online platform would enable him to add value in multiple ways.

While the first three aspects are the most obvious ways our members use the platform, Mark cites the last one as being hugely significant for a young business like his.
Through membership of the Exchange Mark has been able to ensure that by bidding for backloads (and gaining new business as a result) on return journeys, all three of his vehicles generate his projected profit margins. In addition, however, he was able to identify a particular gap in the market for Luton Box curtain-sided vehicles.
His decision to purchase one of the vehicles for Diamond Logistics is set to open up a very lucrative revenue stream that he would never even have known was there had he not been a member of Courier Exchange. That real-time information, Mark says, built a powerful case for the investment to expand his fleet.
