Hello my darlings!
I am in a very up-beat mood today. One of my little granddaughters came around to visit the cafe, and we had a lovely time drawing together! It sounds quite silly, I know, but it really did put a smile on my face to go from chatting about courier jobs and news to sitting down with Maisy and admiring her drawings! Maybe it’s just me fluttering about like an old mother hen (and cheeky Simon will find his bacon butty suspiciously lacking in bacon if he makes another smart remark!), but I really did enjoy looking after her for the day. I hope she enjoyed it too – I did notice all the talk about courier jobs came just a little less loudly and fervently, and Maisy seemed to be having quite a nice time, stealing chips from Paul and drawing with Ian as well. I’m surprised no-one asked to take her along on their courier jobs for a little company! She’s a lovely girl, and I’m very proud of her.
It made me think a little about trying to organise something along the lines of this event I read about in a different cafe. It certainly sounds like a wonderful thing for children to get involved with, but perhaps mine might not be as popular! Also, I have to admit I was quite tired out by the time Maisy had to go home. I’m not sure if I have the energy to go chasing about after children all day – especially not with my regulars to look after as well (and I’ll let you draw your own comparisons about which would take more looking after!). I suppose the latest courier jobs will have to do for now...
Take care now my darlings – remember to indulge your inner child once in a while!
