Hello, my dears!

You know, a thought struck me today. As I was thinking about subjects to give my opinion on for the blog, I realised that for all we talk about self-employed courier jobs and everything around them, we have never really discussed motivations, have we?

I started racking my brain to see if I could come up with an instance where we might have tried to find out what made so many of you darlings choose to work self-employed courier jobs above everything else. I could not for the life of me find one. We really have not talked about it yet, have we?

Well, better late than never, as they say. As soon as I realised that this was a topic I had never written about, I knew I had both my next post and one of those terribly fun things where you all write in and tell me your stories. I absolutely love those!

Of course, all this made me giddy with excitement, and I had to sit down and have a cup of tea before I [swooned](http://www.thefreedictionary.com/swoon). All that skipping in place, cackling and clapping your hands really does take a toll on someone my age...!

Anyway, once I got done being an old lady, I telephoned Stevie (my nephew who has being doing [self-employed courier jobs](http://www.courierexchange.co.uk/courier.html) for about a year or so now) and asked him the question. I learned this from my friend Bill of the Truck Stop – he always asks his brother whenever he writes one of these posts, so I thought I might get Stevie’s input! (I know, I know, sorry for being a copycat Billy!)

At any rate, here is what Stevie told me:

‘I started doing self-employed courier jobs because my previous company was tanking financially and they started laying people off. So I thought the best way to stay on my feet was to go into business on my own. I’ve never regretted it yet – the hours are much better, and of course so is the pay!’

You have to love this nephew of mine...thank you, Stevie!

As for the rest of you, I want to see your answers in my Inbox. I want it to be so full it takes me several days to wade through it (as if that wasn’t its natural state already!) As usual, I will publish my very favourite answers next week.
