Courier Jobs – A Good Way To Get Fit!

Written by Gertie | 10-Apr-2013 12:59:00

Hello, my darlings!

Today, I want to share a thought I had a couple of days ago. You see, I, like everybody else these days, thought it was about time I got in shape. So I started looking at gyms around my area, but they were all dreadfully expensive – even the Leisure Centre asked for some ungodly amount for a pass to use their gym and pool, and they didn’t even offer any classes! So I had to grudgingly put my health kick aside. But then I started to notice all the strapping young gents zooming around my village on their bikes, delivering packages as part of their courier jobs, and I realised – couriers have their very own fitness programme, right there, literally at the tips of their fingers!

Now, I know many of you are involved in the industry, which is why I couldn’t wait to come up here and have a giggle with you all over this discovery of mine. Most of you were probably aware of the health benefits of your job by now – I’d bet a fair few of my readers have muscular legs and good endurance, at the very least – but it’s never too much to stress them, for those who may be less aware.

Do be aware, though – when I mention courier jobs, I’m of course only talking about the ones performed on bikes. As far as I know, there’s no visible health benefits to driving a lorry, although it is true that manning such a big, cumbersome, clumsy thing must at least make drivers sweat from time to time! This post, however, is with regards to bicycles, so if there happen to be any lorry drivers out there feeling jilted, I’m sorry, dears!

For all my readers who don’t have courier jobs (and for those who do, but had never thought of things that way), all I can say is – try it! Everyone knows how good cycling is for your legs, your blood circulation, your endurance and your breath control, among other things. Performing courier jobs on a bike only adds a paycheque to all that – plus a fun career path if you’re a people person and like to be outdoors! So take a look around you – bike courier companies seem to be getting less and less prominent (we have one close by, which explains all the bikes in my village), but I’m sure at least one will still be around to offer you a job! And if not, for all your mechanical couriers, at least get out there and have a pedal about on the weekends. All that sitting around in your cab really isn't good for you, you know. Your body (and probably your family) will thank you.

Excuse my rambling, darlings, but I do enjoy sharing these things with you! Until next time!

Ta-rah!

Gertie
