Hot-Weather Alternatives to Courier Jobs – Your Answers

Hello, dears!

I hope you have all been enjoying the continuing spring-summer weather – as I think I said last week, it took a while for the rain, rain to go away and be back another day, but it appears it finally did. I have been encouraging my patrons to take their orders outside, and I've even set up a couple of tables so they can sit out in the sun and eat.

As I also believe I said last week, I know a lot of my regulars are enjoying this lovely, balmy weather while carrying out courier jobs! To make sure their lives are made a little brighter, and for their sheer amusement, I asked you all to let your imaginations go wild and come up with some alternative jobs to carry out during the summer. And guess what? You lot delivered! (Really, though, when is that ever not true?)

To be honest, you took a slightly different approach than I expected – telling me about your ideal alternate jobs – but that is perfectly fine. In fact, it made for an even more interesting haul (pardon the pun)! So without further ado, here are my favourite answers that you darlings sent in!

'You are absolutely right, Gertie - courier jobs in the summer are quite a challenge! I'm a bike courier, by the way! All that pedalling about gets me pretty hot. Personally, around this time each year, I fantasise about having a job as an ice-cream vendor, right by the seaside. Can you imagine? Being inside a cool booth and catching the sea-breeze in your face? Can't beat that!' - Jenny, Cornwall

'Courier jobs during warm weather are indeed challenging (although it is great to be out on the open road in all that sunshine), so what I like to do is imagine I have a job as a lifeguard. I can practically feel the shingle under my toes and hear the lapping of the water – sometimes, it takes a lot of effort to keep my eyes on the road!' - Joe, Derbyshire.

'Hiking guide. Out in the elements all day, getting some exercise and doing something I love? I don’t reckon you could beat that for a summer job!' - Max, Hampshire.

Indeed, Max – I am an outdoors kind of gal myself!

That seems like a good note to wrap up on, as well. So until we next see one another...ta-ra!
