Hello, my darlings!

Well – winter has certainly put up a battle this year, but it seems the cold has finally gone away for good (fingers crossed). The days are becoming longer, the temperatures are becoming balmier, and it appears to be almost that time of the year again – that's right, England is finally due its yearly two weeks to a month of summer!

For me, this is always an exciting time, even if I don't get to go anywhere too fancy – although Spain is fun, don't get me wrong). Even when I'm at home, I love exploring on weekends, taking hikes or cycling in the countryside, or even going down to the seaside for a spot of ice-cream powered sunbathing.

Believe it or not, as I go on my little excursions, I often think of my regulars (both at the cafe and on this blog) who are busy doing courier jobs in the hot weather. It must be quite hard to be inside a van or lorry when it's hot outside (even though I know none of my regulars would change it for the world, really). That is why, for our last two posts of the month I decided to get things a little imaginative for those of my readership who are working their way through the warmer months.

How do I plan to do that, you ask? Why, with that most tried and true of methods – a reader interaction! That's right, I'm leaving the task of brightening up the days of those working courier jobs during the summer to you, my readers! What I propose you do this time around is find other jobs that still need to get carried out through the summer. In other words, if you had to temporarily stop being a courier and take on a different summer job, which job would you pick?

As usual, I'm not really fussy about what you choose, as long as it's not naughty – if I can't reprint your choice in this blog, you might want to give that particular job a pass. Otherwise, I'm not really bothered – it's just for the amusement of my readers carrying out their courier jobs in the summer.

Answers to the usual place, and as usual, I look forward to reading them!

Until then, ta-ra!

Gertie
