What Makes A Good Delivery Service Driver – Your Answers

Hello, my dears!

How is everything back at home? I hope nothing cataclysmic has happened in the past week or so! I, for one, would like to have a home to return to!

That's right, I am still here, in the sunny south of Spain, enjoying another full week's holiday free of bacon butties! Nothing but lying in the sun, eating glorious local specialities and exploring with Stevie, his wife and my gorgeous nieces! This is the life – shame it only goes on for two weeks out of a year.

Ah well, let's not be glum – there's no reason to, after all. I have the Spanish sun to keep me happy, and as for you – as of right now, you have another answers post to sink your teeth into!

Today we will be discovering just what my readers think are the necessary qualities the perfect delivery service person must possess. Or rather, you will – I already know what they are! I picked the answers after all, didn't I?

Oh, now I'm just being silly – let's stop waffling and get on with the answering!

'One very important quality I find delivery service drivers should possess is a good sense of orientation. Sure, GPS helps – but when there are pop culture jokes about how fallible a device can be, well, you'd better have a backup plan. Namely, your own instincts...' - Joe, Shropshire

'Courtesy. Pure and simple. That's the essential quality a delivery service person must possess. Well, that and self-control. You're going to need a lot of both if you're going to spend your day dealing with customers face-to-face! So if you lack either, then this career path may not be for you.' - Mindy, Wales

'One of the essential qualities to have when performing delivery service is patience. Patience and a thick skin. Both help when abuse is being hurled at you – and trust me, that can happen. Often.' - James, Cumbria.

There we go, then – just a few of the essential qualities for any delivery driver. Of course, I'd assume you could still make for a good professional in the field without one or more of these – but if you have all of them, then this is the perfect job for you!

See you all next time, back in rainy old England.

Until then, ta-ra!
