Hello, my dears!

Well, what can I say? I do love being right! Last week, I predicted that whatever answers my darlings gave to the reader interaction question of the week would be varied, interesting, and worth the trouble of coming up with a question in the first place. And wouldn't you know it, this week, you lot proved me right – again.

(I'm not actually surprised, obviously – I absolutely knew that would happen from the moment I put the challenge out there!)

Before we get to your answers, though, a little refresher, for those who were not here last week (and I know there are still some of you like that – tut, tut!). The question behind this week's reader interaction had to do with what everyone considered to be the best type of vehicle for courier work, and why. I wanted to know why people preferred vans over bikes, or vice versa – or even if there was anyone out there who preferred to go it on foot, and why they had that preference. My readers did not let me down, naturally, and my favourite answers of theirs are reproduced below.

'I'm a bike sort of fellow. Sure, in winter, it's not the most pleasant thing in the world, but on the other hand, during the warmer months, I get to whisk around town, keeping fit, enjoying the weather, and getting paid for it! When you're a bike courier, courier work becomes fun for six months of the entire year. You really can't beat that!' - Dan, Wiltshire.

'Give me a van any day! I love driving, so for me to have the chance to ride around doing courier work is a stroke of luck! I've become familiar with my van's quirks after so long, too – so whenever she starts trying to be funny, I know just what to do to avert a crisis!' - Louis, Hampshire

'I've done courier work both in a van and a bicycle, and they each have strong and weak points. A van is faster and less tiring, of course, as well as arguably less dangerous if you live in a city. But you can't beat the feeling of combining work with a nice bike ride and keeping fit into the bargain. So I really can't decide which one I like best – they're both great in their own way, I suppose.' - Jon, Yorkshire.

There you have it – my prediction was fulfilled! Maybe I should start betting on the lottery next...

For now, though, ta-ra!

Gertie.
