Doing Work As a Courier: Get Fit, Stay Fit!

Hello, dears!

Well, here we are – the end of another month and the end of another cycle of posts for us! This is the last entry in the series of posts we've had all throughout this month, giving tips and tricks on how to get started and be successful doing work as a courier, and I hope at least some of you have benefitted from the topics we discussed. I think it's been a welcome departure from some of my more light-hearted blog posts and, judging by some of the feedback you lot have been sending, you all agree.

It's not over yet, though, and we still have one more post to go before we declare this cycle officially behind us. And since we've already talked about how to get started, network, and find customers, I thought we might skip ahead a little, assume our readership is already established and successful (you're welcome!) and talk about one of the most essential aspects when doing work as a courier: keeping yourself fit.

Stay In Shape

I shouldn't have to explain to you why it's so important to stay fit when working in the courier delivery field; even if you're not a bike courier, and you do all your work from inside a cushy, air-conditioned van, you will still need to go back and forth carrying parcels for people – and some of those can be quite heavy! Of course, if you ARE a bicycle courier, there's also the aspect of cycling everywhere for eight hours or more every day, which requires you to be in even better shape than a van-based courier.

Of course, I'm sure this is not at all a problem for most of you. We live in a society where everyone is aware of the benefits of staying in shape, and I'm sure many of you already have gym subscriptions. But if there's anyone out there would like to work as a courier but can't be bothered going to the gym, be warned – it's probably going to be pretty tough for you, at least in the beginning! If you really want to be a courier, make sure you visit the gym now and again – or at least set in place a regular exercise regimen at home.

Well, that's all the space we have for this month. Again, I hope these posts at least helped someone out there who might be thinking of trying to find work as a courier, but does not know how best to go about it. If this actually turns out to be a popular as it seems, I might do more of these in upcoming months, as well.

For now, though, ta-ra!
