Hello, darlings!

I hope everyone is doing well this week. I know I am, because guess what I have been getting over the past week or so? That's right, some amazing delivery service stories from you lot – just like I asked for.

I tell you, it was really hard to pick a candidate for our inaugural post, but in the end, that distinction went to Sarah, a reader's wife from Berkshire. She sent in the story of the greatest delivery service driver she ever met - and the ending may not be all that surprising to you... Take it away Sarah.

'Hi Gertie!

I'm writing in to participate in your themed month about courier delivery stories. I'd like to tell the story of when I met the most amazing, fantastic, awesome and unforgettable delivery service driver ever!

It happened when I was still living with my parents. We lived in a very small village, so we always tended to have the same mail man come by, and other deliveries were the same – we tended to have the same one or two drivers every time.

This particular guy probably started doing our round in the spring or summer of that year. I shopped online quite a bit (still do), so I regularly got things delivered to my door, and it was always through the delivery service he worked for, so he ended up at my door every few weeks or so. Obviously, after a while, we got to know one another very well, and found we liked many of the same things – especially with regards to music. So when a band we both liked came to town, it seemed like a no-brainer for us to go together – which we did. And then we went to another gig. And another. And then a film. And then dinner. And then we got married, and now he's the reason I even know about your blog!

So yes – my husband Joe is undoubtedly the most amazing courier driver I have ever met, and I'm sure he'll love seeing our story shared on your blog. So please do try to publish it.'

Your wish is my command, my dear...

The rest of you, use this story as inspiration, and let's keep this ball rolling!

Ta-ra!

Gertie
