The Perks of Self Employed Courier Jobs

Hello, dears!

Well, here we are - the end of another month. And, as ever, you lot proved to be the best readership an old girl could ask for!

If you haven't been paying attention (which I hope you have), we have been dedicating this month's posts to amusing or interesting stories about courier work, delivery, and corporate or self-employed courier jobs. In previous posts, we've learned about a couple getting together as a result of parcel delivery and a young man being found by a talent agent on the course of a courier job.

This week, however, we have something a little different. Cameron is a Warwickshire lad who has just had his first job this summer, working for his father. He thought he would share his findings on why self employed courier jobs are a great way to earn a living – and I liked his little piece so much, I decided to publish it. So, Cameron, darling, the page is yours.

'Hey Gertie,

I love reading your blog, along with my dad, who runs a courier company here in town. When I saw you were accepting stuff from readers, I decided to write in, because I did some work for my dad this summer and totally fell in love with the lifestyle of doing self employed courier jobs as a result. So here are a few of the reasons why I think that type of job is awesome.

First of all, you're getting paid for driving around. What's not to like about that? I happen to be one of those people who like driving – I just got my license recently, and haven't stopped since – so this type of job is perfect for me!

Second, you meet all kinds of people. I'm a really sociable person, normally, and I have met a few great people around town as a result of running deliveries for Dad. I would never have met them if it weren't for my summer job, so I'm really thankful for that, as well.

Third, I learned loads about work ethic – I'm much less lazy now than I used to be (and my mum also agrees with this), and I know that's going to help me going forward into whatever career I may choose.

So yes, self employed courier jobs are all right in my book. I just had to share that with some of your younger readers in case they might be considering it as a career – I know I now am!'

Thanks Cameron – great to hear from a happy young worker.

Well, that's it for this month, everyone. See you in November, same place, same time.

Until then, ta-ra!

Gertie
