Hello, darlings!
I hope everyone is having a great week, even in spite of the colder weather constantly reminding us that we aren't in summer anymore Dorothy! And if you for some reason aren't, well...you've come to the right place to turn that frown upside down!
Why is that, I hear you ask? Well, if you happened to read last week's blog post, you'll know that the theme of our latest reader interaction was designed (by moi) to relieve some tension and maybe get a few things off your chest. Why? Because I asked my readers to send in their pet peeves about the world of courier jobs.
I laid some ground rules for this and I'm glad to say everyone adhered to them; so don't expect to see big scathing tirades against anyone's boss or company. This isn't the place for that! The interaction was designed to have fun venting about a few of the little daily details you may encounter when doing courier jobs that might cause a teeny, tiny bit of annoyance. Some of the best ones I received are reproduced below.
'One thing that ticks me off is the people who put an 'almost-right' address on their parcel. I'm not talking about the postcode – getting that wrong is not a big deal. What IS a big deal is to write, say, Primrose Road when you mean Primrose Lane. The next Primrose Road may be miles away, and so the courier is just going to end up going round in circles and delivery will be delayed. And then, of course, the recipient is going to complain that it's late. Double-check your addresses before shipping your parcels, people!' - John, Greater Manchester
'One of the most aggravating little things about doing courier jobs is the impossible-to-find houses. You know the type – set way back behind another house with no indication that it's actually there? So you drive up and down for a solid ten minutes looking for it before someone finally points you the right way? So frustrating!' - Anne, Derbyshire
'Dogs. I'm scared of them, and they always seem to think I'm great to bark at. Plus so many owners do nothing to restrain their dogs, and sometimes they're even vicious! I have at least one scar from a story like that...' - Amina, Hampshire.
There you have it, dears – three examples of things my readers don't like about the business of courier jobs. Do you sympathise or relate? Let me know for next week!
Until then, ta-ra!
