Hello, darlings!
I hope everyone is still enjoying the weather – I know I am! Already planning a holiday break, as well – I don't normally take those, but this time I got an offer I could not refuse. I promise to try my hardest to post while I am in Spain, however – I would not want my lovely readers to be deprived of their weekly dose of courier-related silliness!
And speaking of courier-related silliness, let's get straight into that, shall we? Today, I give you another one of those posts you love – a Question of the Week! (Yes, after years of doing them, I finally gave them a name!) This week's topic is quite serious.
See, I know there is many a courier driver out there among my readership who has to work through the summer, for one reason or another. And as I intend to cover next week, doing delivery work during warm weather can be quite challenging (although lots of fun too by all accounts!) More than that, however, carrying out this type of job during the summer can be physically difficult, if the correct precautions aren't taken.
Why do I say this? Well, anyone who has been inside a car or van when it's hot will tell you how stuffy it can get. And anyone who's pedalled a bike in the sun will tell you how hot it makes you. If not protected properly, a courier driver is subject to all sorts of potentially dangerous situations, such as heatstroke, for example.
That is why, this month – just in time for even warmer weather – I thought I would talk about precautions a courier driver should take to ensure they stay safe during the summer months. Unfortunately for me, writing a blog about couriers and deliveries is far from making me an expert in this matter – which is why it is so lucky that I have you, my readers, to poll for answers!
That's right – for this week's Question of the Week, I want you to share your tips and tricks on how to survive summer as a courier driver. I will publish the best ones here next week, and hopefully help some of our other readers avoid any potentially dangerous situations.
I look forward to reading your entries!
Ta-ra!
Gertie
