Hello darlings!

Well, that last bit of fan interaction certainly worked a treat, didn’t it? So much so, in fact, that I have decided to embark in the summer madness and just have another one straight away!

Actually, that is not the only reason for us to be having another one of these so soon after the last; there is a bit more context to it. You see, I was talking to a gentleman who frequents my cafe – yes, I am back behind the counter full time – and he was lamenting the fact that, every summer, even though he is part of a courier network, work dries up for him a little bit. Everyone is away on holiday, he explained, and very few people want online packages delivered to their homes or things moved. Even the paper round is less frequent, because many people are away and there is no point delivering to their door!

I was immediately touched by the gentleman’s plight, and started thinking of ways I could help. And then it occurred to me: I would ask my dear readers, of course! Most of you do jobs within a courier network and would certainly know of alternatives this fellow could look to for some extra summertime money! So I asked him for some vital statistics, and he told me he has been driving for 35 years, first in a corporate company and then as his own independent courier. He currently rides a bike, but he worked behind the wheel of a van for many years and is still skilled at that, too. His eyesight is good, and his physicality is stunning for a man his age!

So yes, my darlings, today is not so much a fun interactive experience as a call for help. If you can think of any ways in which this man can make up for the lack of jobs within his courier network, please let me know. He told me he is not going on holiday, and whatever came about he would take – so any suggestions are welcome!

I look forward to reading your ideas.

Ta-ra!
