Hello, my dears!
Well, last time I wished to feel peppier this week, so I would not let you all down, and guess what – my wish came true! I do feel a lot less tired, and in fact, I'm raring to go. Let's have at it! All hands on deck! Gentlemen, start your engines!
All right, maybe that was a little too much excitement, especially for an old lady like me. But it was also a perfect way to link to the theme of today's post: older men and women and post-retirement jobs!
Now, I know what you're thinking. 'Post-retirement JOBS?! Don't be silly, Gertie! You retire so you don't have to work!' And you would be right, but not entirely. Certain people simply find retirement leaves them with too much free time on their hands, or they want (or need) to earn some extra money so as not to be dependent on their pension. Those are the types of people to whom the expression 'post-retirement jobs' applies, and according to this article I found, self-employed courier jobs are considered an excellent career path for them.
The piece says that the one thing that makes this type of job so perfect for senior citizens is the fact that it offers everything they might be looking for from a part-time job to do in their twilight years.
Self-employed courier jobs let you get out there and prove yourself useful, while also allowing you to make your own schedule and work as much or as little as you want – all things we already knew, but which do make this type of job perfect for retirees, come to think about it!
So what do you lot think? Do you agree with the author of this post? Or do you reckon self-employed courier jobs are best left to younger people? I'd love for you to write in and let me know.
(Yes, we are doing a spur-of-the-moment reader interaction!)
Until next week, ta-ra!
Gertie
