Hello, my dears!

Well, here we are...at the end of another month! At least this one was sunny and warm, rather than rainy and miserable! And we had fun...didn't we?

As they say, though, 'it's not over until the fat lady sings.' (Don't worry, I'm not going to start singing, but I read some explanations of the origins of that saying the other day and I wanted to use it!) We have one more post to go before we wrap up the month of July for good – and, as you probably guessed, considering what last week's post was, this week's is an answers post.

That's right – if you recall, I asked you all (but especially the mums and dads out there) your feelings on self-employed courier jobs as summer jobs for teenagers. Did they work? Did they not? Would you allow your children to do them? The response was as I expected, enthusiastic and varied. So let's see what you lot had to say.

'Self-employed courier jobs are excellent for teenagers. My 16-year-old is working doing them with his Dad, and he's really learning loads about responsibility and time keeping – which were his weakest points. I think it's really going to help him in the next school year. He loves it and he's earning a bit of money – plus my hubby gets to slack off a little, which he deserves!' - Jacqui, Berkshire

'I would encourage my son (who's 18) do self-employed courier jobs in the summer. It teaches them responsibility and accountability, while earning some money to take back to uni. And, as Gertie said last time, it does beat flipping burgers!' - Jack, Wiltshire

'Absolutely a good idea. Will not hesitate to let mine do that kind of work when they get older – they're only six and nine now… so maybe not yet!' - Anne, Hampshire.

'I think it is a very good idea, provided you don't live in a big city. I would not let my boys go all over London, or even the smaller city where we live in. But if you live in an area without a lot of traffic, or perhaps if they do a special course first, I think it is an excellent option for a summer job.' - Helen, Lancashire

Well now, that's unusual... A consensus amongst my readers! Say it isn't so!

In all seriousness, though – great job, as always, you lot! See you here next month, for some more courier-related goodness.

Until then, ta-ra!

Gertie
