I hope you've all continued to enjoy this extended summer. I got a really bad case of sunburn from sitting out in the garden too long – my face and shoulders sort of resemble a beetroot at the moment!

Well...it appears summer has come early this year, doesn't it? We were all ready to make the usual jokes about the three days of British summer, then Britain hits us with a proper one for once! Oh, there's still rain, of course – there had to be – but I have spent more time soaked from a cold shower than a 'cold shower', if you know what I mean...

Well – the first week of our little experiment didn't go badly at all, did it? You lot seem to have enjoyed the post about receipts, and I got quite a bit of feedback along the lines of 'you're right, young 'uns do need to know this'. There were even some real-life examples thrown in from some of you! I'm happy that my little post has been so well-received, and I hope this one goes over as well as the previous one, even though it's about a very different subject.

Well, chestnuts are roasting on an open fire, and so forth, and suddenly I am reminded of that quote from that show, 'Game of Thrones'...how does it go? (Goes to check.) Oh yes – 'Brace yourselves, winter is coming!' Of course, they're referring to something within the universe of the show, but the actual phrase is not too far off something a courier driver might say around this time of year!

I hope everyone has had a good summer! (As much as Britain allowed for summer to actually occur that is – I cannot recall a more diverse couple of months where weather was concerned!) You're probably all ready to return to your courier jobs (if you took a break) with a fresh outlook and plenty of enthusiasm!

Well – all good things must pass, as they say, and so we come to the end of our full month dedicated to discovering the other side of a delivery service driver's life. I hope you guys had as much fun reading people's stories as I did publishing them – in fact, I enjoyed myself so much that I'd be ready to do this again at some point! So if you feel the same way, feel free to send suggestions for themed months that we might do in the future.

Before looking into the future, however, there is still some of the present left to attend to – namely, one last post for this themed month.
